Easter Sunday is just around the corner and in addition to meeting the Easter Bunny, there’s another animal you can celebrate with this year. We’ll give you a hint: He’s a beagle. He likes to sleep on top of his dog house. Aaaaaand his name is Snoopy.

This Saturday, you can rides Peanuts The Easter Beagle Express to celebrate Easter with Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Lucy and, of course, the Easter Bunny (a few of them, actually).

In addition to reserving your seat on the Durango train, your ticket buys you a whole bunch of extras: crafts, storytelling, refreshments, live music, temporary tattoos, costumed Easter bunnies, costumed Peanuts characters, an Easter egg hunt and several other activities. Passengers will also be able to enjoy a reading of Charles Schultz’s book It’s the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown during the ride.

The train will leave the historic downtown depot at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 19, and head to Cascade Canyon, where Snoopy the Easter Beagle — and other characters — will be waiting for passengers for photos and activities, including an egg hunt, during the 45-minute layover. The Easter Bunny will join passengers on the trip back to Durango and will even “give all the Peanuts The Easter Beagle Express passengers a special treat,” according to the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad website.

Passengers will get another extra Easter treat: A souvenir mug that passengers can refill all day (with non-alcoholic beverages) from the Concession Car, where lunch, snacks and other items will also be available.

Book your seats online or call 888-872-4607. If you’ll be staying in Durango this Easter weekend, stay with us at the Durango Quality Inn!
