Wolf Creek Ski Area opened two runs in mid-October, and 100 percent of the mountain is now open for skiing and snowboarding seven days a week.

In October, the Durango Herald reported that Wolf Creek Ski Area’s opening wasn’t a record — but it wasn’t too shabby:

The Oct. 19 opening date will be far from a record. In fact, in 2011 the area opened on Oct. 8. But last year’s opening date wasn’t until Nov. 14. … Arapahoe Basin became the first Colorado ski area to open when its lifts started running (Oct. 13).

Wolf Creek is currently reporting a base of 62 inches with 17 inches of in the past 48 hours, according to the ski area’s snow report.

The Durango Quality Inn is about 45 minutes from Wolf Creek Ski Area in Pagosa Springs. Book your room with us today and take your pick of hitting the slopes at Durango Mountain Resort (Purgatory) or Wolf Creek Ski Area — or both on the same weekend.
