If you’re looking to get down and dirty, you still have time to register for one of three Durango Muck & Mire on the Mountain events Saturday, Aug. 10, at Durango Mountain Resort.

Early registration for the 5k, 10k or “Mini Muck & Mire Mile” fun course (for the kiddos) ends Aug. 2, so act soon if you’re looking to roll around in some mud in a socially sanctioned way. You can register for one of three events:

• The 5k Muck & Mire starts at 10 a.m. and will make joggers face log jams, rock gardens, a mud pit, a pond skim and more.
• The 10k Muck & Mire Competitive Race starts at 9:30 a.m. and is designed for more serious competitors. Racers will tackle 15 obstacles on the mountain and will have to crawl through a culvert, climb a wall, navigate cargo nets, swim a pond and much, muck more. (C’mon, that was a sweet pun.)
• For kids who love to play in the mud, the Mini Muck & Mire fun course fulfills all their wishes. Starting at 11 a.m., kids 10 and younger can take on the mud pit, slip-n-slide and hay bales — for free! (Post-course bath not included.)

After the event, stick around for awards and prizes (best costume, fastest time in the 10k and others) as well as a party that includes a beer garden sponsored by Steamworks Brewing, and a soda party sponsored by Coca-Cola of Durango-Farmington.
