Summer in Colorado is defined by many things: Stunning sunsets. Warm evenings. Fresh air. Cool beers. Hot barbecues.

And you can get your grill on — or just enjoy eating the results — during Men Who Grill on Saturday, June 7, at Buckley Park in downtown Durango. Amateur grilling teams will face off during the 11th annual grilling festival that, in addition to the food, will feature live music and entertainment throughout the day.

You can watch as team prep and put together their best grilled creations, including beef, pork, lamb, chicken, veggies, fruits– basically anything you can put on a fire before you put it in your mouth — then you can eat samples hot off nearly two dozen grills. According to organizers,

Last year’s favorite was a team that cooked everything over mesquite wood, served summertime shrimp soaked in beer as well as an unbelievably tender beef tenderloin with Creole mustard and horseradish sauces.

All proceeds from the sizzle festival go to the Women’s Resource Center, a local nonprofit that advocates for the empowerment and economic self-sufficiency of women and families in La Plata County. Learn more at www.wrcdurango.org.
