Well, guys. It’s almost that time. Yep. It’s almost time to pack it up, say your goodbyes and do your grieving because ski season is just about over.
We know. It’s sad, but there’s no better way to see off the season than with a final hurrah on the slopes.
Durango Mountain Resort (Purgatory)
Closing Day at Durango Mountain Resort, aka Purgatory, is March 30, and the ski resort will be throwing a “Last Celebration of the Season” party that weekend. Events kick off Saturday, March 29, and end Sunday evening. The celebration will include live music from the likes of Ralph Dinosaur and the Fabulous Volcanoes as well as prizes and swag, like the Bud Light Giveaways, when you can enter for your chance to win a snowboard, bicycle or a cooler (no word on whether it will be filled).
Wolf Creek Ski Area
Wolf Creek Ski Area is planning to stay open a week longer than Purgatory; Wolf Creek’s closing day is Sunday, April 6. To mark the end of the 2014 season, events include Local Appreciation Day with deals for locals (lift tickets are just $38 for adults and $22 for seniors and children) and the “Fun Race 10 of 10.” Skiers can race their friends or just try to best their fastest time. The race is free and open to skiers and snowboarders of all ages. Racers can sign up from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the Raven’s Nest building, and the race is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Charisma Run.
Hesperus Ski Area
Hesperus Ski Area is already closed for the season, but they can’t wait to see you in roughly seven months!
So, you better get on it if you want to squeeze in your last few moments on the slopes. While you’re planning your farewells to the ski season, be sure to book your room with us at the Durango Quality Inn!
