Friday’s a big day, guys. Like totally big.

No, not because it’s Black Friday. Pffft. More like “Black Run Day” at Durango Mountain Resort!

Opening day is Friday, Nov. 29, and the slopes at Durango Mountain Resort, formerly (and forever) known as Purgatory ski resort, will be running from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The mountain at Purgatory has received 30 inches of snow since Nov. 20, so the runs are ready for you to ski and snowboard to your heart’s content, according to Durango Mountain Resort:

Get in your first turns of the season at Purgatory. With this latest storm, we’ll have excellent early season conditions. Don’t miss out! Check back for updates on terrain and snow totals! See you on the slopes and THINK SNOW!

You can check daily snow reports at Durango Mountain Resort, which is only a 30-minute drive from the heart of Durango. The ski slopes are a straight shot north from the Durango Quality Inn to the resort, which makes it easy to book your room with us, catch some powder, and come back to Durango après-ski  to enjoy the city’s restaurants and breweries.
