The Polar Express doesn’t leave the station for another three weeks, but if you want a seat aboard the magical holiday train, you should buy your tickets now. Tickets sell out quickly (especially for premium seats) on the Durango train’s Polar Express, so be sure to reserve your spot to meet Billy, the conductor, the elves and Santa Claus himself!

The Polar Express — the award-winning children’s book that was made into a live-animation film featuring Tom Hanks — comes to life aboard the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad‘s historic steam engine train. Passengers can sing Christmas carols, sip on hot chocolate and enjoy treats served by personal chefs who will also read The Polar Express storybook as the train journeys to pick up Santa Claus at the North Pole.

Santa will also visit each passenger car on the return trip to Durango. And the best part? Every child aboard the Polar Express train will receive a special gift from Santa!

The Durango and Silverton railroad’s first Polar Express train departs on Saturday, Nov. 23, and the railroad offers departures on select days through Jan. 4. You can buy your tickets online or call 888-872-4607 for reservations.

While you’re in Durango, Colorado, for your trip to the North Pole, be sure to book your room with us at the Durango Quality Inn. Our hotel is only 2 miles from the Durango train depot at 479 Main Ave., and you can easily get to the depot on the city’s free trolley! All aboard!
