Poor Charlie Brown. Always waiting for the Great Pumpkin to arrive and always disappointed. No, wait. That was Linus.

Anyway, maybe you will see the Great Pumpkin during the Durango & Silverton railroad Peanuts™ The Great Pumpkin Patch Express train that departs Durango on Oct. 12 and 13 and Oct. 19 and 20. Even if you don’t spot THE Great Pumpkin, you’ll definitely find Charlie Brown, Lucy, Snoopy and, yes, pumpkins.
The half-hour train ride takes even the littlest passengers to the pumpkin patch, where Peanuts™ characters are waiting to greet them. Kids receive trick-or-treat bags to fill with treats at the pumpkin patch, where they will have 1 1/2 hours to enjoy hay rides, live entertainment, the Charlie Brown Game Alley, a pumpkin-carving artist, bouncy ghost castle and corn pool.
Kids can also go trick-or-treating and find their way through a maze to the pumpkin patch where they can pick out their own “great” pumpkin. There will also be a costume contest, so don’t forget to dress up — parents, too!
You can book tickets for the Great Pumpkin Patch Express Train on the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad website or by calling 888-872-4607.
While you’re in Durango waiting for the Great Pumpkin to arrive, book your room at the Durango Quality Inn. Our rooms are much comfier than sleeping in the pumpkin patch. (We’re looking at you, Linus.)
