Ugh. We hate not having anywhere to wear our tutus. Don’t you? It’s the worst.

Well, yank your tulle out of the closet and fluff that sucker up because it’s time for Durango’s annual Tutu to Brew bike parade and beer festival Thursday, Aug. 16.
Everyone dresses in their craziest getups — yes, tutus, but also wigs, nutty glasses, hats, petticoats, fishnets and pretty much any kind of costume that has been sadly neglected since Halloween — and gathers at Buckley Park in downtown Durango at about 5:30 p.m.
The crazily clad crowd then pedals about 3.5 miles along the Animas River trail to Ska Brewing Co., 225 Girard St. in Durango, where riders can sample an array of local craft beers and microbrews paired with food and appetizers. Have you noticed how everything tastes better in a tutu?
If you’ll be in Durango for the night, book your room at the Durango Quality Inn. We have plenty of closet space for those costumes.
